System? It is a gun...not a system. It is a rifle made by armalite and based on the m16 which they also made. It is designed for legal civilian use. Ergo it is not as dangerous a weapon as the m16 and it is much cheaper....

Because the AR 15 Semi automatic IS NOT a combat weapon, not an assault rifle, and was never designed to one.  As this thread shows.   Could you explain why the AR 15 Semi automatic rifle is not issued to US combat troops as the standard issue assault rifle? Hint, the answer is in the question.  ...
